____________________________________________________________ ______________KOSMIC MUSIC LAUNCHES WORLD MUSIC SERIES WITH GARDEL MARTINICarlos Gardel' Songs -- Remixed(Beverly Hills CA) Kosmic Music U.S. expands their offerings with the launch of a new world music series featuring traditional songs from countries around the world, remixed with a bossa nova lounge-style flare. The series launches nationally on October 9 with GARDEL MARTINI -- an album featuring the songs of Argentina’s legendary Carlos Gardel.Comprised of ten Gardel tracks, interpreted by singer Maria Entraigues, keyboardist Ruy Folguera and guitarist Enzo Buono, “The tango is very dramatic,” says Buono. “It’s a sad story always, with the girl leaving and the guy who can’t live without her. These melodies and lyrics, very mellow and organic, bring tango to a different world of joy.”With over 1,000 recordings and 800 recorded songs to his credit, Carlos Gardel is revered as one of the most prominent figures in the history of tango music. Sixty-eight years after his death at age 37 in an airplane crash -- at the height of his career -- a devoted following keeps his legend alive as a tragic hero in both Uruguay and Argentina.Arriving in Los Angeles from Argentina in 2001, Enzo Buono first came to attention as a member of Latin alternative band Los Pinguos. The quintet, which also included his twin brother Adrian, quickly found its place on the local music scene’s fast track. Performances on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade quickly led to club gigs at such venues as the prestigious Conga Room.Maria Entraigues is an actress as well as a singer. Recognized with an ASCAP award in 2005 for her contribution to the film Zapata, Entraigues will co-star and sing in the upcoming feature film, “Dare to Love Me” – a musical romance based on the life of Carlos Gardel, due for release in 2008.Argentinean composer Ruy Folguera divides his time between scoring films and arranging and producing for such artists as Roberta Flack and Chaka Khan. He received an ASCAP Award for his pop ballad "Luchare por tu Amor" from Zapata in 2005, and was recognized with a Grammy for his contributions to Rush Hour in 1999.With U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles, Kosmic Music fuses Eastern and Western styles of music representing the best of world, film, healing and meditation music. Influences: A variety of styles like lounge, electronika, jazz, brazilian, etc.NOTE: This is album does not contain traditionally executed tangos, but instead tango songs performed and recorded using different styles resulting in a fusion of them. It is an original concept and is not "tango music" in its interpretation.. We can play and sing traditional tango too! We are from Argentina but this is not it okay?! :) And we looove Gardel !! He was the best and as we say in Argentina: - "cada día canta mejor".. Enjoy!
Sounds Like: Classic Carlos Gardel with a Bossanova twist.
