EJay Day

EJay Day (b. September 13, 1981, Lawrenceville, Georgia) was one of the ten finalists during the first season of American Idol and finalist on WB's Popstars 2. Day was actually a last minute replacement in the Idol semifinals for Delano Cagnolati, who was discovered to have lied to escape the show's age cutoff.Millions of American viewers voted EJay Day as one of the top ten finalists on the hit TV reality phenomenon, AMERICAN IDOL. EJay continued to captivate audiences with his opening performance of "Black Cat" by Janet Jackson to a sold-out crowd, during the American Idol US tour at 30 event arenas throughout the country and also for the American Idol MGM Grand TV Special in Las Vegas. EJay Day was a recognized artist before his appearance on AMERICAN IDOL. By the age of 15, he had performed for President George Bush, former Atlanta Chief of Police Eldrin Bell, former U.S. Ambassador Andrew Young, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Hank Aaron, Andre Agassi, and Muhammad Ali. In fact, Muhammad Ali was so inspired by EJay's voice, that he asked him to perform at his book-signing events and other receptions in his honor. EJay also wrote the song, "Pure Love" for Raven-Symone's CD, "Undeniable".
