About Me

Kelly J. Compeau launched her showbiz career in the late 1980s, singing lead and back-up vocals for an '80s pop/rock cover band, utilizing her ability to mimic the vocal style of numerous recording artists including Olivia Newton John, Karen Carpenter, Pat Benatar, Debbie Harry, Annie Lennox, Madonna, Paula Abdul and Sade, among others. She later transferred those talents to broadcasting, singing jingles and creating a variety of character voices for radio and television. In addition to her work as an on-air personality for a New York radio station in the early '90s, Kelly also wrote news, sports and entertainment stories for live broadcast, and ad spots for local businesses. By the year 2000, Kelly had become a sought-after freelance marketing, advertising and promotions consultant, and writer/photographer for local newspapers. Experience which later proved invaluable when she scored a sweet gig in live television as a copywriter, floor director and production assistant for CHUM Ltd. & Rogers Television. She later founded Showbiz Media Services, working as a celebrity publicist & talent manager, and KJC Group Entertainment, an Ottawa-based television/New Media production company with one project in the works, called THE BLACK TOWER .

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Folks who work in showbiz. Specifically actors, writers, producers, directors etc. I'd also like to hear from musicians, both solo artists/vocalists and full-fledged bands (pop, rock, alternative, jazz, folk, country, industrial/punk/Goth, soul/R&B). So, if you think I might be interested in getting to know you, by all means, contact me and ask to be added to my MySpace 'Friends' list. But please keep in mind that I get dozens of "add me" requests every week and I'm purposely trying to keep the 'Friends' list small and manageable. Just folks I know personally and/or expect to collaborate with, professionally-speaking, at some point in the future. So don't be offended if I turn down your request, OK? Odds are I'll still add you to my list of 'Favorites' just so I can keep tabs on you. Thanks for understanding.

If you're not a member of MySpace but would like to contact me, here's my email: [email protected].
