Not a lot of people take advantage of an opportunity to make a difference in their life. Most of us are afraid of change or not being good enough. It takes strong individuals with a mindset of achieving their goals to achieve what they want in life no matter how out of reach it may seem. My Own Time has the courage, dedication and perseverance it takes to withstand amongst others despite what people may think. Our sole mission is to be known for what we stand for as individuals coming together to be known as a band that has what it takes to make it big and making a difference in a gender biased world.
The Hardcore Salt Lake City-based unit came together in Feb of 2008 when Karla Oliva (Vocals) and Victor Viveros (guitars) met via mutual friends and realized they both share the same interests. My Own Time currently had four songs without lyrics and Karla Oliva got to work on writing lyrics immediately. The new songs received positive responses on their Myspace page and since then word started to spread about the SLC based front woman band.
My Own Time is known for their dedication and team work and not letting anyone interfere in achieving their goals in becoming a well known band throughout the world. They have a demo out titled “Rise from the Downfall†which has made quite the impression in the local scene. My Own Time demonstrates their variety and range in every song they set out to play.
