Fernanda Martins is nowadays considered one of the best newcomers of Brazilian’s Techno scene, and certainly one of the best newcomers of world’s techno/hardtechno scene.
Djing for only 3 years, she already played in the main parties and clubs of her home country, and also in countries such Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Portugal and Ukraine, been part of the line ups of important events and dividing the cabin with many of the most known techno names.
BIOGRAPHY AND CAREER
Fernanda Martins was born in 1982, in Medianeira city, state of Parana, Brazil. In love for music since she was very little, she had her life musically marked by genres such Rock, Pop and the New Wave from the 80s and 90s. The new sounds that were emerging, and consolidating themselves as new music styles, slowly called Fernanda's attention and fed her interest for the innovating sounds of electronic music.
Her first contacts with electronic music were trough researches she did on internet and that leaded her to find and get interested for the work of Djs/Producers such, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke and Mauro Piccoto. Latter on she would became interested for the work of artists such Dave the Drummer, Glenn Wilson, Adam Beyer, and among many others. This made clear the preference that Fernanda had by the most known genre of electronic music, the Techno.
In 2002, Fernanda moved to Curitiba. There she had her musical taste very much under the influence of the “London Techâ€, that was a very strong style on the city’s underground techno scene, witch she became a part of. Her interest for music, and mainly, for the mixing techniques grow up day after day. And on early 2005, more precisely, on April, Fernanda Martins started to dedicate herself to the art of mixing. For that, she could always count with the help and support of her friends, like for example, Dj Bad (Josué Roseira) from Curitiba.
In the beginning, Funk, Groove and Acid Techno were the main styles on her sets. Therefore, Fernanda was constantly worried on improving her technique and explore tall the variations of techno on each set.
Her dedication and talent started to call the attention of the crowd and known Djs since her first gigs.
PROJECTS AND TOURS
In 2007, Fernanda and Daiane Ebert created in partnership the party project Mood Music, witch has as its goal, to promote Techno in the city of Curitiba and its region. The party project also became a radio show on the Web Radio Dance Latino America and there it stayed until the extinction of the Radio.
Also on 2007, nominated by Dj Lukas (BRA), she joined the casting of 2 European dj agencies, Trivial Bookings (Spain) and Bullshit Bookings (Germany). Also on this same year she had her first european tour, playing in important clubs and parties such Blau Club, Club Zoreks and Dual Festival (Spain), Liberty White (Belgium) and Maria Club (Germany).
Still on 2007, Fernanda returned to Europe. On her second tour, she could show her work in clubs such the Metro Klub (Slovakia), Cinema Club (Ukraine), Club La Cova (Spain), Club Poema (Holland), and among others.
In April of 2008, she came back again to Europe, this time to stay one year, making a course of music. On her third time in Europe, she already could play at many important events like the Ruhr in Love 2008, in Oberhausen, one of the biggest festivals in Germany and much more. It is still to come many confirmed presentations, in countries such Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
MUSIC PRODUCTION
Since 2006, Fernanda started to research about music production. Slowly she started to dedicate more and more to this. Nowadays, it’s to producing tracks that she dedicates a lot of her time.
Fernanda is always researching for sounds that have their own identity, mixing that with elements that define her music taste such: strong kick drums, melodic synths, industrial elements, dense and tough bass lines and a lot of percussion.

Fernanda Martins is always trying to improve her technique, and researches constantly to find new sounds and textures to her sets and tracks. Looking for new and old sounds, she tries to explore the most diverse of techno variations.
Besides having a great charisma, her mixing technique is amazing. Using cuts, scratches and efx’s, Fernanda creates precise, detailed and “explosive†mixes and she knows, like no one, how to use all the flexibility and versatility that techno offers her.
