About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorWe recorded these songs almost all of it live, in one take wherever possible. What incredible fun we had, staying up all night, drinking whiskey and wine, singing and playing our damned hearts out--------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------Let me tell you a little about the songs that are up so far.-------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- 'Cocaine Habit' is an old blues song from the very early 1900's. It has been covered many times. Our particular cover was recorded in one take (almost, drums went ..) altogether. It was very fun to play and sing. A real riot!I think the subject matter is pretty self-explanatory. Cocaine was still legal back then, you could buy it in the chemist/pharmacy/drugstore. I suppose not too much has changed. The pharmaceutical industry continues to be the worlds foremost drug-pushers although they seem to have lost their grip on one of the more enduring drugs. Probably for the best in the long run.-------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------'My Damned Heart' had its original inspiration taken from an episode of the US tv show COPS. The wife was being dragged off in chains for beating on her skinny husband while he shouted "I don't know why they're arresting you, you know I would never press charges, I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY DAMNED HEART!" The song speaks more generally of doomed love, the car crash that we can't tear ourselves away from. Anybody worth their salt knows what I am talking about. Thank you to Aaron Fishbein and Chris Di Angelis for helping me bring it into the world.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------'September Moon' is a song that i wrote (with the musical assistance of Aaron Fishbein, Adam Zimmon and Chris DiAngelis) all about the night that i met my sweetheart on the Isle of Wight at the Bestival Festival. I wanted it to sound like an old campfire song and believe it or not, it has most of my family and many friends singing on the recording all together in a group. Ma, Pa, cousins, aunties and lots of the musicians that play on the record. September Moon is by far the sincerley happiest song (no easy feat) and the truest autobiograpical song i have ever written. "You had a beer and I, Long Island Iced Tea, we sat on a car I think, and then You kissed me." Listen to the story, hear the happiness, I promise it all really happened, just like that. Hope you enjoy as much as i did.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------'U nder the Holborn Viaduct' is an original song written by Keith Austin from London country band Captain Black and me. It speaks of a love affair between two homeless wanderers, one now possibly dead, and how even when you seemingly have nothing, love (and beer) is all you really need. -"Remember the misty mornings on the Strand, we spat off the bridge and you pissed in empty cans, we threw them at the trains that were departing Waterloo, and any love I had I threw to you." Ah the good old days. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------Th ere are many more songs to be put up soon so keep watching this space. Lots of love to ya'll ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------!
