I love to paint marine life and coastal New England scenes, I customize my own action figures, and my newest undertaking is creative writing, I wrote a short 75 page story about myself involving my past with placekicking. It starts off as autobiographical and turns fictitious after chapter 3. It is titled "HEAD DOWN" All chapters can be found in my Blog archives. Considering a Fan fiction spin off of a graphic novel called Micronauts. Sci Fi genre ~ We'll have to see what happens there? From 1990~1993 I was a Federal Police Officer for the Department of Energy. I was a member of a protective force response team based at a Naval training base for U.S. Naval students training to operate Nuclear subarines. Due to a substantial amount of radioactive materials and confidential and classified information on site, a protective police force was needed in the event of terrorist attack, criminal intrusion or fanatical protesters. We were trained extensively in the use of automatic weapons and 12 gauge shotgunns. We carried on our person at all times a 9mm Smith and Wesson hand gun with one clip in the weapon and 3 additional on our belt. We also carried a Heckler and Kotch MP-5 semi automatic machine gun seen in photo. 3 clips on our belt containing 30 hollow point silver tip rounds per clip. Pepper spray, handcuffs, self defense, Bomb search ~ recognition and detection, first responder and CPR training were all required as well. We had full arrest and detaining powers and were authorized to use deadly force when and if deemed necessary. I've still got my handcuffs,WOO-HOO! We were all laid off in 1993 and the site was declassified. All I have is the one photo of me in my pics. And YES it is real.Some of you may be confused by the "Square Toe Kicker" title ? In high school and in college I was a place kicker. I practiced many a long day in the blistering heat, torrential rain and ice storms, actually 8 years working at it and made many sacrafices to achieve my goals. It happened at a very impressionable time in my life and affects me even today. I wore a white conventional style shoe which had a Square Toe molded on the end of it exactly like the one in my background image.
