I HAS A TATTOO!

About Me

I live in New York City and try to practice drawing daily (and post a lot of sketches here). I'm a self taught visual artist, but can "really" draw now. Got my education in Poetry. Wrote a children's book... blah, blah, blah.

My Interests

art; music; poetry; illustration; tattoos & tattooing; movies; books; children's books; anatomy; design; marketing; business; typography; Old Master Artists (like Durer, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Prud'hon, Rubens, Del Sarto, Carravagio and both Tiepolos); the metal; cats; running; sharing tables at tattoo conventions; sharing hotel rooms and carpooling at tattoo conventions...

I'd like to meet:

The good the bad and the ugly.

Music:

I'm not doing this... it'll take forever... lets just say LOTS of bands, lots of styles, lots of songs... lots of favorites...

Movies:

The Outsiders; Dead Poets Society; Princess Bride; Johnny Dangerously; Hellraiser; Shawshank Redemption; Drugstore Cowboy; State Of Grace; Bad Boys (the Sean Penn one... not the hip-hop one); American Beauty; True Romance; Pulp Fiction; Goodfellas; Young Frankenstein; Blazing Saddles; The Hustler; Conan The Barbarian; Deadman (the Jonny Depp one); Indiana Jones (1 and/or 3); The King Of New York; Snatch; Office Space; Say Anything; Secretary; Legend; Stigmata; Memento; The Jerk; The Name Of The Rose... etc, etc, etc...

Television:

Absolute favorite: Norman Lear 70's sitcoms... followed by 2001 - 2006 HBO Sunday nights... and I've gotta' give props to Southpark and The Daily Show, too.

Books:

Mommy Has A Tattoo, and Tattoo Coloring Book No. 1 also a big fan of Ralph Waldo Emerson & Ted Hughes (they're tattooed on my forearm); as well as Twain, Hemingway...

Heroes:

My father and grandfather were the original (and still greatest) heroes in my life. I also look up to RW Emerson; Ted Hughes; Michelangelo Buonarroti; the Conan artwork of John Buscema and Ernie Chan; Jim Morrison; John Lennon; Shannon Hoon, Artur Rimbaud; Ernest Hemingway, and Clive Barker.
