I love to Swing Dance, decorate, design, draw, paint and sing. (although most of my friends tell me that I shouldn't sing. And they have a very valid point.)
Okay, I would like to meet Albert Einstein and talk to him about anything not relating to math or science. Like "What's your favorite color?" or "Who is your favorite singer and why?"I'd love to meet Robert Fulghum and ask him how he got to be so deep, and why he likes to dance.I'd love to meet my mother and have her not know who I am for a day so that we could talk for real and maybe not be so judgemental about each others choices.I'd love to meet Allen Alda and ask him if he ever knew just how much he made me smile.I'd love to travel back in time to the late 30's/early 40's and swing dance with Frankie Manning when he was young. I'd love to dance at the Savoy Ballroom and know enough to be able to set the floor on fire. I'd love to dance to Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald as they rocked the world and the radio waves.I'd love to meet Claude Monet and ask him just exactly what he saw in those haystacks and then ask him what he sees in me.
I'm really into the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies right now - they are so much FUN! Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Brian Setzer, Glen Miller and Michael Buble, just to name a few - Basically, I have become seriously addicted to anything I can swing dance to, since I started swing dance lessons last fall (thanks to Nate and Bethany for getting me addicted to Swing!!) and I am currently struggling through Lindy Hop Lessons (wish me luck!)
All time Favorite Movie is "OSCAR" with "Radioland Murders" running a close second, followed by my new fav "Miss Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing and Charm School". What can I say? I love to laugh and Real Life has enough real drama.
I'm seriously addicted to Scrubs, the Simpsons and Friends. My husband has recently fallen in love with Corner Gas, a Canadian import which is really funny and is slowly becoming a favorite of mine as well. CSI is the only "serious" TV show that I enjoy on a semi regular basis. Once again, it's all about what makes me smile.
"Boys Life" by Robert McGammon "All I ever need to know...." by Robert Fulgum "the Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis "the Swing Book" by Degen Pener
My husband, Marty, who proves to me every day what true, unselfish love really is.My friend Sarah, who proves to me on a nearly daily basis what true friendship is. She is unselfish, not stingy with her love and encouragement, is kind to everyone she meets, will listen to me laugh, cry, complain, and giggle over stupid things while crying and laughing right along with me. She is amazing! My friend Harmony who is raising a child with a social and learning disability along with having a three year old who is the Walking Curious and has to be into everything. My friend Chrissi who has a three-year-old and TWO two-year-olds and is always bright and cheerful no matter what. She had problems with all three of her babies and has spent a ton of time praying for their very lives in hospital rooms over the last three years. Yet, she is always cheerful, creative and willing to help others. And her husband, Josh, who shoulders all of the husbandly and fatherly duties day after day.My friend Cindy who laughs at stupid stuff with me, explains everything SO well, really loves me, listens when I need to rant and encourages me daily.Mother Theresa for proving that there is always more to do.My friend Donna, for always being steady and encouraging to me no matter what. For really being there for me with all that I've gone through. All of the missionaries at Jesus People USA who give daily of themselves for the greater good. Especially for those few who go the extra mile when they don't have to.
