Ikona was found in the summer 2005 in Mogilev city (Belarus). Members of Ikona are musicians, who used to play in bands with some local fame (3t.ON, Jur.By, Ikebana).
During the time of Ikona’s existence repeatedly the line-up and music style has changed. Now, the band plays modern heavy music full of dynamic riffs and not trivial melodies. Powerful emotion drive and energy bind together with lyricism. The main principle of making music for the band is: “The future of heavy music is her past filled with a fresh bloodâ€.
Since 2005 Ikona has visited several of cities in Belarus and some places abroad. Also appeared on huge fests with famous ex-USSR bands: [AMATORY], STIGMATA, RASTA, 5 DIEZ, STARDOWN, ORIGAMI, KOREA, PSYSHIT and others.
In the autumn 2006 was shot the first band video on the song “Pulya (Dlya Sebya)“ (eng.: Bullet For Youself). Music TV Channels (such as A1 and Enter Music) play this video by the people requests.
In 2007 Ikona signed a contract with “Whaler Records†(sub-lable of “Metalism Recordsâ€, Russia) to issue debut promo-single “Za Mig Do Pervoi Krovi†(eng.: “A Moment Before the First Bloodâ€), which contains all songs that band has recorded since 2005 and debut video.
At the end of 2007 debut ful-length album â€Nevynosimaya Tishina Minut†(eng.: Unbearable Silence Of Minutes) was released on Go-Records. In December 2007 band went on the road with Rasta and Frontside to support them in “Meridium tourâ€.
