Moviegoers are abuzz about MARIAH WILSON’s performance in “DREAMGIRLS” (DreamWorks/Paramount), which opened nationwide on Christmas Day 2006. The 12-year-old Mariah Wilson plays “Magic,” the daughter of “Effie” (Jennifer Hudson) and is the first actress in the history of “Dreamgirls” to portray this character. Under the direction of Academy Award Winner and Directors Guild of America “Best Director” Bill Condon, twice nominated, producer Laurence Mark and Executive Producer Patricia Whitcher. Mariah shares the spotlight with Oscar Award Winner, Jamie Foxx, Grammy Award Winner and Golden Globe “Best Lead Actress” nominee, Beyonce Knowles, Golden Globe “Best Supporting Actor,” Eddie Murphy and Danny Glover as well as Tony Award Winner, Anika Rose and her on-screen mother, Oscar Winner, Golden Globe winner and NAACP Image Award winner for “Best Supporting Actress,” Jennifer Hudson.



Mariah currently host/co-host an internet-based kids radio show on KWAV.biz on Tuesday/Thursday from 8:00-9:00 pm. She recently filmed on segment on ABC Family “Lincoln Heights” scheduled to air this fall. She appeared on the Tyra Banks Show to surprise the Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson prior to receiving her Oscar. She appeared with Jennifer as her guest at the 38th NAACP Image Awards, she was one of the dancers on the Ellen Show for the Billy Blanks, Jr. “Cardioke” segment and she performed “Over the Rainbow” on KPNX-TV 12 (NBC) in Phoenix, AZ Midday news.

Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Mariah displayed a natural talent for the arts at age two where she began training and performing at Plumb Dance School. She later showcased her talent for dancing, singing and acting at Desert Stages Theatre under the direction of the late Gerry Cullity and his wife Laurie. Mariah participated in numerous plays as lead characters and ensemble for the plays “Grease,” “Your a Good Man Charlie Brown,” “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Butterfly’s Day,” “Cinderella,” “The Grinch,” “Annie,” “Wizard of Oz,” “Barbie Beach Party,” and “Ugly Duckling.

In 2000, Mariah joined the Arizona Angeles performance dance team where she performed at several Sporting events; Phoenix Suns Basketball Halftime show, Arizona Rattlers Arena Football as well as other community events "Arizona Maricopa County Fair" and the Bob McGrath “Sesame Street” Holiday Show.
At age 6, Mariah booked her first commercial audition with Joanne ETC. Her commercial credits also include a national KMART “Back to School,” ”Homeland Security PSA “Medley,” “Arizona Anti-Smoking PSA “Kick Butts” and a Lifetime Television Promo. Since moving to California in 2003, Mariah has been featured in numerous television shows and several feature films; “Kicking and Screaming,” “Be Cool,” “Christmas with the Krantz,” “American Pie “Band Camp,” and “Must Love Dogs,” as well as lead roles in several independent films “Tyler,” “The Good Neighbor Policy,” “After School,” “The Factory,” and film short “Last Dance. She has been in a Pilot Presentation “The RO Show,” (variety show) produced by Roshon Productions and in a screenplay “Tunes” produced by Kimberly Williams performed at the 2005 EMBODI Black Female Festival.

Vocally, Mariah has performed the National Anthem at youth sporting events as well as performed various jazz tunes at several Restaurant and in several concerts with the Sabado School of Music. She trains under Michael Skidgel and Billy Purnell. Theatrically, she trains under Krisha Bullock, Joey Paul Jensen, Deborah Dion, Harriett Greenspan, Susan Putman, Richard Lyons, Kimberly Crandall, Noreen Servides and Constance Tillotson.
