Chayse Manhattan's musical career began some 8 years ago. Beginning as a hip-hop dancer and D.J. After quickly learning the art of entertaining the crowds wherever he was. Chayse was found almost by complete accident at a club in Cleveland by a well-known promoter who was putting together the next R&B group. "Mark approached me while I was dancing and said "Damn! Are you from around here?!" I told him I was from Akron and he said there were 3 other guys he wanted me to meet. Those guys would quickly become not only my best friends but more like brothers to me. "The group MaXimize was born on that night and we had quite a run for almost 3 years opening up for some of the biggest names in music" Chayse said.
After the group split in 2004 Chayse went back to his D.J. company but he never lost the love he had developed for making beats. "I've got hundreds if not thousands. Some I've used, some I still plan to use." I had all these beats and a lot of my friends in music came to me wanting to use them. While I agreed to let them use some of the beats I just felt weren't being used the way I saw them for.
That's sorta where the rap game began for Chayse. "I was trying to show a couple guys what to do with this one beat that I had a sample in. After I spit a few lines on it they're like 'Bro, why don't you just rap on it and let us sing the hooks and a verse. That was so tight'."
"I honestly thought they were messing with me until we played back what I had said and they're like "seriously"
The next day I recorded my first song and I haven't stopped since. I finished The Game of Love a year ago and I was very proud of my first album. For a breif second I thought I could be content with 1 and done. I was sadly mistaken. So ladies and gentlemen...... I'M BACK!..
