Hello there. My name is Xenia. I play the Ukulele. I also sometimes play a saw. I sometimes play on my own. Sometimes I like to play with a varying number and combination of musicians I know, including those ambiguously listed to the left. Since January 2009 Mr Joe Urwin has been laying on a fat low C tuned guitar that wraps up the ukulele like a warm quilt.
Here's what some tool wrote...
"Haling from Bristol, Cat Green Bike's minimal micro-epic ukelele sub-balladry brims with the wry witticisms of a closet English Eccentric. Gingerly plucked melodic lines that nod as far east as Canterbury with prog-rock spines are interwoven with a satiric, dryly humoured vocal counterpoint in hushed home-counties tones.
Cat Green Bike will laugh at the slugs she pours salt on."
CDs & Vinyl
Cat Green Bike has made various incarnations of a CD, the latest of which is Breakbeat/Thrash/Concrete, which made its first apperance on the 28th of February at Ukelear Meltdown in Newcastle. It is the usual Radiohead style pay what you like job.
You can get your copy here and following the instructions...
There will also be a vinyl released later in the year, probably a 10".
Mr Glover from Epic45 will be producing it, so it should sound lovely. I'll also be working with Rob on some The Toy Library things in the near future. Mmmmmm....
The vinyl will be put out by the lovely people at Urban & Eastern who are also responsible for Ukelear Meltdown which takes place every February at the simply sublime Star & Shadow Cinema in Newcastle.
