The Aerophoenix is a progressive metal band from Malmö, Sweden.
It was founded at the end of 2004 as a heavy metal band mostly playing songs inspired by Iron Maiden and similar bands. Founder was Viktor Ståhl. He was soon joined by guitarist Max Paulnitz, bassist Jacob Eliasson and drummer Tim Olsson.
Then the band for 3 years had the band as something fun to do and played a few gigs but it was never something serious. Songs mostly played was Iron Maiden songs further proving that Iron Maiden was the big inspiration of the band during this period.
However in May 2007 Ståhl and Paulnitz came to an agreement that Paulnitz would leave the band. About a month later Eliasson also chose to left the band. This was not really something bad for the band however since it gave it a restart which was needed at this time.
To replace Paulnitz guitarist Andreas Gullstrand arrived. A few months after this the first big major change happened which changed the complete genre and to be able to do this Olsson had to leave the band. It was now the band became a progressive metal band and a few months later a drummer named Jakub Firman joined the band making it a threesome.....
