I travel, and then I write about it. Sounds like an ideal job, no? To be fair, I love being able to see the world--be it deep in the Amazon or a cow chip throw down the county highway. And the random schedule means I never know what to expect from work. But it's not always what it's cracked up to be. Lost luggage, missed connections, endless hours in boring airports listening to a booming voice say the threat level has been raised to orange, as if that was a recent thing, and as if it made a difference to me. I call myself the Mad Traveler because I live in the Mad City (Madison), I travel like mad, and since I often fly with American Airlines, it's my typical emotional state: angry. From this blog you can expect to read about some of the ups and downs, see a few photos, and find out what part of the earth I'm walking.

Check out my books! Ever been to Turkey? I lived there for a year, an experience so great I had a book published about it:
The Yogurt Man Cometh: Tales of an American Teacher in Turkey
