I am 38, Male, married for 17 years with a 17 year old son. I am a Professional Fire Fighter for 14 years. Previously, I served my country in the Canadian Armed Forces, Army, Special Service Forces as a Combat Lineman. Prior to that I was a Reservist throughout highschool as a Infantryman. I am also the co-founder and Current Vice-President of a Provincial Sport Organization in Ontario. We brought the new sport in after 5 years of lobbying and complying with requests for data. We were the first new sport to be brought into Ontario in over 13 years.
I am Erie Diaspora. This means that my family came from Ireland originally, as they fled the Troubles. I love my heritage, and am very much in touch with it, however I never forget that I am Canadian. It is in my opinion that what makes this country so strong, is it's diversity of it's people, though fitting together is also one of the issues thats needs work.
Most who know me, would tell you that I am a straight shooter. I call it like I see it and I won't sugar coat it for you. If I hurt your feelings, maybe it wasn't how I said it, but the message that was sent to you that hurt you. Either way, you can be sure that if I say it, I mean it. Atleast at the time that I said it I meant it.
I stand for a transparent government. One based on truth and facts. One that listens to the people, and understands that Politicians are Public Servants, and by that definition, they serve the public, not their own agendas and greeds. I will only support a government that strives for Canada's sovereignty, as well as equal rights for every citizen, regarless of their ethnic background. It is also my opinion that all citizens should be Canadians first and thier ehtnic background second. Learning the Language (English or French) is a must. I also feel that Canada can become something far more then it has in the passed, and much of this is due to poor Leadership, that made poor choices and a lack of accountability on financial matters.
I am stuborn, so if you want me to see your point of view, be prepared to work for it. I do change my opinions and admit when I am wrong, but this is not something I do often. You will have to debate your views diligently, and honeslty if I am to be persuaded to change my views.
