My day job is a travel and guidebook writer, photographer and broadcaster. I'm currently travel editor of www.laterlife.com a web site devoted to over 50's travel. My other clients include BBC Radio, The Times, Real Holidays, Sunday Herald, Thomas Cook Publishing, Dorling Kindersley, AA/AAA Publishing, Jarrold/Pitkin Publishing, Insight Guides and New Holland Publishing.With my wife and writing partner, Moira McCrossan I have written or contributed to over 40 travel and outdoor guide books including the best selling AA Essential Scotland and the AA Spiral Guide to Scotland which has been translated into several languages.Our latest guide, The Globetrotter Guide to Jordan was published by New Holland in November 2007. I also wrote the Scottish section for Dorling Kindersley's coffee table book Where to Go When which was published in 2007.In my spare time I organise a series of music festivals and run the Marquee Club in Moniave, Scotland's Coolest Village.
