A movie reviewer which dabbles in poor-quality recording with its ukelele and some instruments made by computers, this band first developed a taste for really really sad songs when 9 or 10 and heading sweatily into a protracted and hysterical adolescence. Although exhausting at first, the inclination toward the melancholically melodic lingered and eventually took hold, so that nothing could get this band going quite like Elliott Smith, Cat Power, Joe Pernice under the bridge, Ween lamenting a baby bitch, the Pixies covering Winterlong, Turin Brakes, Lady Day, Iron & Wine on Jezebel, Dylan on Sarah, Fugazi so tired & Pavement dressed for success, sad songs are best.
