Dinko Stipanicev

About Me

Dinko Stipanicev was born Febuary 23rd, 1975 in Zagreb. A child of a musical family, he started to play the violin at the age of 6, later he switched to the clarinet. He taught himself to play the bass guitar, doublebass and the tenor saxophone. Now he mostly plays a SELMER OVAL-HOLE acoustic guitar designed back in the 30's. Reason for that is Dinkos' love for music of the legendary, Django Reinhardt, a Belgian gypsy guitarist born in 1910 and is considered to be the man who founded the roots of European jazz music in 30's and 40's. In july 2007, Dinko recorded "Swingin' In A Blue Way", his first album as a gypsy swing guitarist. To great jazz standards like, "There will never be another you" or "The way you look tonight", he has given a fresh romantic note in gypsy jazz style. With his own compositions like "Valse a Dinko" and "Friends forever" Dinko shows an affection for different music forms. Most memorable to the audience in Burgthann was Dinkos version of an old gypsy traditional song called "Moja mala nema mane". Enjoy "Swingin' In A Blue Way".I found this video and I think its worth of looking! THIS IS JAZZ!!!
