"Jack Action fuse an NME favourite rock sound with quality metal riffs. The south of the river four piece keep it simple with guitar, bass, vocals and a shit hot drummer - producing a set full of hooked up heaps of fun rock'n'roll... good band" - Drum Media Perth
"Jack Action have found a combination of elements that create successful music. Their tracks are poppy – still semi aggressive, and their band has an exceptionally good look and feel to them." - Fasterlouder.com
Year 12 geography... not the most likely place for the birthplace of a band but that is where it all started. Between pretending to pay attention and doing things that are too immature to mention, a kid with a plan (Chris) began the task of recruiting members. Before long we had assembled a five piece rock outfit ready to tackle an upcoming high school band competition. We played, we rocked and we loved it.
After a few years of gigging post high school the band reformed with a proper name ‘Jack Action’, a new bassist ‘Ross’ and become a gang of four. The beginnings of Jack Action are important when understanding the band. Unlike allot of professional bands you might see around the Perth music circuit the members are all mates. We all went to school together; we are all still friends and spend countless nights out on the town for non-band activities. This would explain the inside jokes that sometimes leave punters confused during shows (sorry about that). We like to think that we are quite a simple band. Not too many instruments, songs that aren’t over complex just; good fun rock and roll that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
As the fun and games of high school band competitions fades and university degrees are either completed or nearing completion we just like most people realise that ‘ A JOB?I DON’T WANT TO GET A JOB!’... our solution... be rockstars instead!
So after the notable absence of any decent recordings the band is now in recording mode planning to release two demos shortly for Myspace consumption.Over the summer months we will be taking to break as Anthony will be off saving the world in Africa for some time. Our last show of the year is on November 2nd at The Deen, as part of the Northbridge Festival, we would love to see some friendly faces to send Spags off!Bye... love you all xoxoxoxox
