Hailing from Portugal, Europe, Da Silva & Lino is a music production duo formed by Joao Da Silva and Nelson Lino.
Joao Da Silva has spent the last half decade successfully releasing originals and remixes on labels such as Ultra Records, Radikal Records, Sheeva Records, and Resonate Records, among many others. His remix credits include several renowned artists, from Funky Junction to Midnight Society, and some well known club bangers, such as Danzel’s worldwide smash hit “Pump It Up!”.
Nelson Lino recently entered the musical scene coming from a more urban influenced background, and ready to bring his trademark grooves and funky rhythms into the table. His acute dancefloor sensibility enables him to understand the crowds’ wants and needs, and provide them with what they long for.
In early 2007 they teamed up in the studio, and the ‘Da Silva & Lino’ project was born. Their first release was the remix for Joao Da Silva’s “Jaded” on Escuro Recordings US which received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback by some of the world’s top DJ’s. The track got played a bit all over the globe by some of the biggest names in the field, which led them to receive an increased amount of requests for originals as well as remixes, by the record labels.
Since then they’ve released several records on labels such as SoundGroove Records US, Coraza Recordings US, Drum Central Recordings UK, Knob Records US, etc, just to mention a few of them. These releases garnered them the support of some of the world’s most famous DJ’s such as Jaimy, Evolved, Tom Stephan (aka Superchumbo), Pete Tha Zouk, That Kid Chris, Luca Ricci, Midnight Society, Funky Junction (aka Constantino “Mixmaster Padovano), Tigerhook Corp, Bass Rokwell, etc.
As a result, the duo’s releases usually reach the sales charts of some of the highest rated distributors and digital stores, receiving radio airplay, being included in compilations, and getting played at the world’s best and biggest clubs, from Los Angeles, to Miami, New York, London, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, and also at some of the more exotic locations such as Ibiza, Istanbul, Dubai, Moscow, Sydney, etc.
Over the next few months they’ll release new originals and remixes on some of the hottest record labels in the game, from KULT Records US, to Slanted Black Records US, Hypno Music UK, among many others.
The future will see them broadening their areas of work and extend their reach beyond the dance music field and into the more mainstream territories of Hip-Hop, RnB, and Pop.
