I do 2 radio shows along with my co host "The Rocker" on 88.3 WQNA in Springfield, IL. The Monday show we play Death, Black, Thrash and some Power Metal. The show is on the radio on 88.3 WQNA in the Springfield, Il area or it streams live worldwide on the net at www.wqna.org from 7-9 pm central time. The Friday show is more of a retro show where we play classic 80's metal. Everything from Motley Crue to early Metallica, Poison to Slayer. And tons of obscure bands in between. You can tune in from 3-6 pm central on that one. We also play local bands and myspace bands. If you want some airplay and play "Real Metal", I will give you the address to send your cd.
Now about me. I listen to many different styles of music as long as it is tolerable. Looking at this site it is obvious I love brutal Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal and Power Metal. The Monday show is awesome because I can play the brutal bands that I love and spread the gospel of brutal Metal to as many extreme metal fans as possible. I grew up on Classic Rock, 80's Metal and 80's Hair metal and still love that stuff today. The Friday show is very cool for me because I get to play the stuff I grew up listening to on the radio and we have a die hard fan base for the Friday show that is awesome. If you love 80's Hair bands and 80's True Metal bands like Maiden, Priest and Manowar you will love the Friday show.
As far as accomplishments go, I won best dj in the Illinois Times Readers poll in 2006, made the cover of the State Journal Registers entertainment section in 2006, helped WQNA win best radio station in the 2007 Illinois Times readers poll and helped WQNA finish 2nd in the official arbitron ratings in 2007. Pretty amazing feat for a 250 watt radio station with no advertising budget.
As far as my personal life goes
I like to go to concerts in my free time, I also love to check out the local bands in Springfield. I love 80's cover bands like Rockhouse, House of Nasty and Lost Boys and the brutal bands like What Thou Will, Suffer the Wrath, Decimation, Grim and Us Against Them.. That is all for now.
