The year of 1983, March 1, the number one percussionist in the world, dubbed "the unsung hero of Motown", by Berry Gordy himself, and a beautiful model on her way to super status gave birth to a baby boy named Dane Diamond. With parents like these, and a Godfather like Neil Diamond by his side there was just no denying that the industry spotlight was destined to shine on him......................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .................................. Music has always been a part of Dane's life and his deep understanding and skill for the craft is a testament to this. At an early age Dane was surrounded by every basic instrument imaginable. Most mornings for small children involve waking up early to watch cartoons, but for Dane it was waking up early to learn how to play a tune on the piano he heard the day before. Even as a young child he would sit at the piano with his Dad, pointing him in the direction of the right sounding notes when his father was stumped! "I remember when I was little... telling my mom, one day I'm gonna know how to play every instrument there is." Dane remembers confidently. Dane Diamond has a deep understanding of music and its process. His music punctuated by his cutting edge sound, unpredictable grooves, outer space-like melodies, insightful and witty lyrics, and undeniably catchy hooks, not to mention his obsessive love of the craft, have helped him to be comfortable in any genre. "It doesn't matter to me", says Dane, "I love it all, Cash, Jimi, The Doors, Kurt, Dre... I'm even bumpin' Dixie Chicks now and then. Recently Dane has been working with buzz worthy artists RUBEN ANGEL, and TORI ROZE, both based out of the San Diego area. In his local town he has been busy with talented MC, TARGYT. In addition, Dane has also worked with Grow Records artist RISING ASTERISK; a group gathering a lot of attention in the underground hip-hop scene in there native Bay area. However it was his collaborations with Angel that lead to a Grammy Nomination last year. This is really exciting for Dane and proves to be just the beginning. Ruben has been gaining numerous attention for his new heat seeker "Stereo is Dead" produced, and co-written by Mr. Diamond, and is in the midst of negotiating a hand full of record contracts.
