About Me

Steve Hlavac here. Photographer of people, places, things. Thanks for stopping by. I'm an ex-New Yorker and a Bohemian-Italian-Irish mutt. You got a problem with that?!?
The equipment and technique I use to create my art took over 180 years and countless millions of dollars to develop. And it is still evolving. Here is my method:
I first intensely previsualize, then skillfully "paint" a scene with a very precise amount of natural and artificial illumination, converting it through a small transparent amorphous silicate material to a large pattern of variously hued elemental particles using a highly sensitized electronic matrix governed by a series of complex algorithms.
These are then slowly altered visually to my exact specifications, satisfaction, and artistic whim employing sophisticated software on a powerful computing device, then systematically rendered using correct placement of refined pigment-based solutions onto a specially processed felted sheet of vegetable and man-made fibers specifically designed to interact with the fluids.
This rendering is then placed both in front of and behind strong sheets of archivally stable, densly pressed cotton-based particles, the front piece having a section carefully removed through an intricate cutting process to allow the rendering to be accessible to the viewer.
This viewing "unit" is then encased along all sides in a light-weight metallic material, perfectly fabricated to enable a small machined aparatus on the back that enables safe and secure attachment to any smooth vertical surface.
Finally the rendering is protected by a light, clear UV filtration system, ensuring that its extremely delicate nature is shielded from both natural and man-made environmental elements.
BTW, the matted and framed photo can be hung anywhere you like.
Any questions?
