Influences: There have been and there will be many artists and works influencing my music and my understanding of art. First of all, my main Indian music teachers: R.Fahimuddin Dagar, Bidur Mallik and sons, Dilip Chandra Vedi, Manjushri Chatterjee, Raja Chattrapati Singh. In Europe, I have become acquainted with some of the great contemporary artists through my partner Werner Durand. Many are the composers whose music has had an impact on my own creations. First of all, the ones with whom I have collaborated and therefore came to know well: Terry Riley, Chico Mello, Maria de Alvear, Roland Pfrengle, Francis Silkstone, Fernando Grillo, Ulrich Krieger a.o. John Cage deserves a special mention, since the in-depth work I have done on his ‘18 microtonal ragas’ has taken me a long way forward in the path I am treading between worlds and cultures. For more information on my music and collaborators, please see my homepage www.ameliacuni.de
