About Me

I'm thankful that "God is the knower of my mind and heart. That He is without beginning and without end, that He is the Preserver and Protector of all, that He is eternal, that none can see Him but with eyes divine, that He is in all that is hidden to our eyes, and in all we see, that he is the Creator, that he is the Knower of the past, the present and future, that He depends on no one, and that He is everywhere, in everything and beyond."
THE GREATEST THING ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY AS AN ART FORM IS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEPEND ON ANY ONE ELSE TO DO IT WITH YOU.
Personally, about me, I LOVE BLUES! Blues has been a true friend to me... I would say that besides God and the people I love, blues is the most important thing to me - it's a way of life, and a good way of life for solitary types. Blues is my friend that never changes.
I have twelve black skirts (left) in my closet (after throwing out six.) I have been renovating an old (circa 1922) house for 10 years, so I know how to fix toilets, install sinks, tile floors, put in some hard wood, sew, and paint, and paint, and paint. And I've had enough of it, but not enough to be finished. The only other important thing to know about me is that staying caught up on laundry is my life goal, and, I'm never close to reaching my life goal.
"Did you ever take a look and see who's left around?
Everyone I thought was cool is six feet under ground." Johnny Winter
I am a hermit crab neatly folded in.
I'm (always) loving:
Albert Collins, the Master of the Telecaster.
Johnny Winter, Texas Bluesman.
Albert King, King of the Blues Guitar.
Lightnin Sam Hopkins, Country Blues Legend, masterful storyteller, and my best coffee-drinkin' pal.
And Koko Taylor, my favorite singer of all time. Look at all this sass! I want to be Koko. I remember seeing her with her fringed white dress that shook all night, and talking to her while she ordered herself a drink. I knew then that it would be a memory I would keep forever.
The funniest guys I've ever seen and my latest obsession:
Tina! Eat the food! ..
adopt your own virtual pet!
My favorite Shakespeare sonnet:
When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts my self almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.
Shakespeare's Sonnet XXIX

My Interests

I am interested in Jim, Pete, Evie, my church, my dog, my Canon 5D, and anything driven by the power of the Holy Ghost, particularly old black shake-your-soul gospel music. That fully covers it. Except also, I like dogs.

I'd like to meet:

KOKO TAYLOR who IS like fine wine - she gets better with age. She is 79 and just released her new killer album, "Old School" and she's still the earthshaking QUEEN OF THE BLUES..... she's the best there's ever been and ever will be! She is my favorite singer of all time. I had the honor of meeting her and seeing her sing several times. She wore a white flapper dress with fringe that shook and shook from the bottom up. I've also had the great pleasure of seeing Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, BB, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Stevie and Jimmie Vaughan back when they played at Poor David's, and so many more of the all time greatest guitar players ever. I also love and would like to meet Jemaine Clement, Bret McKenzie, Rhys Darby, Arj Barker, Larry David, [b]ecker, Jessica Claire, Chris Cooper, Tim Roth, John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, Pete Townsend, Peter Krause, Kinky Friedman, Bob Dylan, Jeffrey Tambor, Don Knotts & Susie Essman

CHECK OUT PO' LIGHTNIN!

OH I MISS ALBERT - THE MASTER OF THE TELECASTER!!! Electric blues at it's best. WHAT AN HONOR IT WAS TO GET TO SIT WITH HIM AND WATCH HIM COMB HIS HAIR, AND GO OUT INTO THE STREETS WITH HIM WHILE HE PLAYED HIS GUITAR!!! There's never been a finer guitar player than Albert with his sassy one humbucker Tele.
