A little about me:-
I love the way the sunlight hits the mist that comes off the ground in a rainforest and how it feels when you are totally surrounded by the overwhelming silence of the trees and the shrills of the birds. I have walked through many a forest and have no fear of sleeping in a forest uncovered and alone.
I love the way the sea crashes to the shore with different waves of blue and green and sometimes yellow. I have swum out amongst the ocean all alone on a few different occasions and do not fear the sea life that dwells there.
I have witnessed some incredible things, that are my experiences alone and some people wouldn't believe, but it is not for me to prove or make them believe. It was what it was, an amazing experience. There are many strong characters out there who had a great influence on me when I was younger and quite a few of them were aboriginal. People with clear conscious and kind hearts who would do any good thing for anyone ;)
I love the way that a baby's eyes glaze and glare back with such vibrancy that one glance can move me to shed tears. I have been fortunate enough to have my own and it is with pride that I speak about them. Babies are little people that give so much more than they receive.
I love finding the weird and wonderful. Once I stumbled across a sea cow (or dugong)sitting on some rocks and I also came across a few sea snakes coiled up nice and peacefully under the sun. I have see a spider monkey up close and I have also swum with semi-wild dolphins. On land I surprised a real live full grown wombat while I was bushwalking alone in the Cradle Mountains, and I have also witnessed a wild cassowary in the rainforest around Cairns.
I love fields. I used to enjoying running through fields when I was younger. I am getting older now. I am not able to run as well, obviously...hehehe.
I love the excitement of danger. When I was younger I used to go swimming near crocodiles and played with snakes. Because my friends weren't scared, I never became scared. I must admit we didn't stay in the water for very long...hehehe!
I love the feeling of heights and how it fills the heart. I love standing over cliff faces and looking down below. I have climbed the tallest mountain of the glass house mountains without ropes (it wasnt planned that way, it just happened) and then climbed back down (that was slightly harder). A couple of times I enjoyed absailing when I was younger.
I love islands. I visited Fraser Island before it became commercialised. I remember when there was only our family swimming in the freshwater lake and it was heaven.
I love coming face to face with a dingo and almost touching it and not being one bit afraid. We had a dog that was half dingo and she was the best dog I have ever known.
I love walkabout. I have spent many many days just walking all day. My ideal holiday would be to pack a backpack and walk from the South of Australia to the North of Australia (I would say from East to West however, I am not sure whether I would survive the desert. I would probably walk through the desert in the night, but during the day I would struggle with the heat
I love being underneath the earth and looking through caves (as long as there is light). I have seen a few caves in my time. I must admit the scariest but most fascinating experience was an extinct goldmine near Adelaide. I actually began to suffer from really bad claustrophobia, however, I still enjoyed the whole "expedition" and it was a privately owned mine so we had it all to ourselves which was pretty cool.
I love witnessing the sounds of nature. I especially enjoy listening to waterfalls and babbling creeks or rivers. My highlight would have to be Mossman Gorge when I was younger. It was a magical place filled with many large boulders and at the time it was wet season so the water was fresh and flowing very fast.
I love hearing the snow crunch underfoot. I still have memories of when I was a mere toddler. One particular memory was of the snow in the Macedon Ranges. It has always stuck with me. Yes I have a photographic memory and am fortunate to have many memories of my childhood still intact :)
I love giving out love. I try not to judge anyone. I dislike the judgement factor. I think that it is better switch off the mind and then just think with the heart. If I walk past a person and there is a feel there, then I try not to disregard it. If only to talk to the person and say one or two words, it is better than ignoring the emotion completely. I have learnt that everyone has good and bad and sometimes if we just listen for a moment we may actually have chance of learning something important!
I am on a journey and I don't know where I am going to end up. Life is for living. I will live first and whatever comes after that is a bonus :)
