About Me

PWK as a concept has always been in the back of the band members minds since we each (at whatever age) discovered our love of music and dreamed about joining our first band. Now.....that being said, PWK as a band as only been around in it's most powerfull form for about 3 years.......... Founded somewhere between late '03 and mid '04 Guitarists and drummers came and went, singers sang, or didn't,lol! With Shane and Matt being it's only original members since '04. Steve has been draining 40 oz's and beating the hell out of the drums since fate brought him to the band in July of '05. Cover tunes got ruined or reinvented, original tunes were wrote, Fermenting in a un-airconditioned un-heated garage for a year produced a 3 piece band with a ready to perform, let's do this attitude. The local neighbors, law inforcement & courts told us to quiet down. We didn't!! We just slapped up some walls and continued on jamming, playing party's, and what ever clubs would have us till 2007.......................After cutting a demo, changing our name, playing some gigs, and Shane losing, finding & re-selling his Soul for Rock-N-Roll, we felt that something was missing. Lucky for us another local band Masau had just broken up. Joining forces with PWK since Febuary '08, former Masau guirtist/songwriter Eric "Stackdaddy" Stoecker brought a feel and sound to thicken or music and produce the sounds we had been hearing in our heads for so long. We played some more gigs, sold some T-shirts, stickers, etc....etc........ We have got S.O.S. (Social Outcast Studio's) ReckChords up and running and will be recoring on our own and W/Wolfman Studio's. We are hoping (cross your fingers) to get the full length CD recorded by the end of the year. It will include 9-14 tracks, some will be better versions of our previous demo tracks and some will be new (if you have seen us live you already know some of them) So check back for updates, New songs, studio pics, and gig dates.......... Playing With Karma? let us explain..............Overrated.....do no wrong. Simply stated.......we belong fucking with fate. Having members with backgrounds from various Arkansas & Texas bands with over 60 years combined musicial experience has lead to this, a new, yet familiar sound. An experimental merge of groove oriented rock, influnced by old school punk and metal like no other!! We are fans of music first. We play for the love of music and what it means to each of us, separately, and together as a band. Music is not a career, it's a lifestyle. It's a part of your soul or it's not. We ARE musicians, not just some guys that can play. Kurt Vonnegut said "the practice of art is not to make a living, but to make your soul grow." We're NOT on a mission to sell out JUST to be a house-hold name. We DON"T want to hear our music on a Cadillac commercial in 15 years. Don't get us wrong a gig in front of 10,000 people would be great, we'd FUCKING ROCK THAT SHIT any day!!!! But on our terms, not a corporate funded parade or by playing what is popular at the time. We DO think our music is unique, Music nowadays is good but lacking diversity, it's becoming very generic thanks to the mainstreaming of what once was viewed as unaccepable by the "majority" back in the day. Basically, All we are is 4 guys making music that we like, We play to drag us and those around us away from the stress & BULL SHIT of this life, cuz when you are enjoying yourself everything else fades away!!!!!!!! Come to a show and join us!.......you'll see!...................... SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA SAY FUCK ALL THE BULL SHIT!!!!!!!
