Growing up, Carson always displayed a passion for performing. Through many creative endeavors, he began to show that it wasn't just talk. By first grade, Carson was putting on neighborhood performances of The Wizard of Oz in his basement. "It was all about resources. I've always used the tools I've been given: I knew the story, there were a handful of kids on my street, and I wanted to be in a show!"
Although he didn't officially involve himself in the world of theatre until high school, he still wanted to push forward with the art of performance. At age eight, his parents bought him a cheap Casio keyboard for Christmas. "We made a deal that if they were going to buy it, I had to take lessons. Best proposition of my life." It was at that moment Carson Ross, the musician, was born. The "songwriter" came later when he saw an artist on TV who completely changed his life. "There was so much passion in what she was doing. Those were her words she was singing, and I could feel it. Obviously the lyrics to 'Dumb Girls' aren't what struck me." He was watching Lucy Woodward for the first time.
After spotting her again on AOL Music, he gave her a serious listen and got hooked. "Here was a woman pouring her soul out through her music. I wanted to do that." So he started writing. He wrote, and he wrote... and he wrote some more. Only through "the blues" has his own music grown into what it is today. "You go through different experiences like love and loss... As an actor, I get to play someone else on stage and you see me go through situations as that character. With my music, that character is Carson Ross. What you see, what you hear is all me."
Currently, Carson is writing his debut album and has many exciting projects in the works. With the musical stylings of a couple friends, he is creating new music to be included in a spring tour of the midwest. Be on the lookout for new material as it may hit the myspace circuit.
