The Moneypenny Band

About Me

This band plays a variety of music. From classic rock and dance favorites of the 60's, 70's and 80's, 90's, as well as country hits, heavy rock, blues and basically just about everything. From it's original inception, the band has progressed through the years with a bevy of talented players. As mentioned, this band mainly plays cover tune favorites from a variety of genres. But stay tuned.....As this band is about to put forth its own original flavors for the palate to taste and enjoy. In its current state and line up, the members of this band are now solidified to where this band will begin to soar to new heights and a treasured future. You'll do yourself a favor to see this band, so be sure to check their website, or here at MySpace, for future dates. You will not be sorry.Jill Sullivan- Lead Vocals, and general great looks. This girl can sing, and make you squirm in your seat.Josef Wilders- Lead Guitar, Lead/Backup vocals. Former member of The Felonious Funk band, Josef loves Jazz, Funk, Reggae, rock (of course), and has a lot to offer on future original material. Oh, and let us not forget to mention, the girls seem to like this guy too.Bruce Shay- Bass player, Percussionist, Lead/Backup vocals. What can we say about this man? A lot. Bruce is our rock. Bruce was a member of the band 1910 Fruitgum Company. His band toured with Ohio Express, and many others, and as success goes, the band scored 3 gold records for the songs "Simon Says", "1-2-3-Redlight", "Indian Giver." In 2002-2003, he did a European tour in Germany, touring with The Archies and other well known bubblegum groups of the 1960's. Bruce was also a member of the band Identity Crisis in 2001. He's ours to keep now!!!John Scott- Keyboards, Lead/Backup vocals. John has played in several projects, and is as solid as they come ..s. And sounds? Yep...he's got a million of 'em.Brian Olmsted- Drums, Lead/Backup vocals, commercials and Japanese television shows. Brian not only has a rock solid meter, but he's the instigator and crowd inciter. He makes sure that the crowd has plenty of fun. Whether it's playing in his pajamas, or just carrying on, you're sure to be entertained. Brian's past includes several projects in the heavy metal world. 84-86..Silent Scream out of Los Angeles, California. Silent Scream opened for a lot of, at that time, up and coming bands. In 1991, the tail end of the hair band scene, Brian was with a Jacksonville, Florida band Taija. Taija was another all original project that, up until Pearl Jam and Nirvana took hold, was looking at a contract with Sony/Columbia. Upon moving to Tampa in the later end of '91, he joined with the band Red Rover. Red Rover has spawned players in other bands such as Hammerslug (John Kool-Lead guitar), and Tony Arnone (The New Tropix, Secret Service, The Dynamic Duo). His influences are Buddy Rich, Phil Collins, Leonard Haze (Y&T), and is heavily influenced by, and has been told his playing ability is that of like John Bonham.
