Tokio Hotel is a German rock band from Magdeburg Germany that formed in 2001 under the name Devilish. They later changed their name to Tokio Hotel and are signed with Universal records. The band consists of identical twins Bill (vocals) and Tom Kaulitz (lead guitar), Georg Listing (bass), and Gustav Schafer (drums).

The group has released three German albums to date: Schrei (2005), Schrei: So Laut du Kannst (2006), and Zimmer 483 (2007).

They've released one English album (a compilation of songs translated into English from both Schrei and Zimmer 483) in 2007.

Bill Kaulitz was born in Leipzig, Germany on September 1, 1989. He has one sibling, a twin brother named Tom who is older by ten minutes. His parents divorced when he was seven years old, and then his mother, Simone, quickly remarried. Gordon, the new stepfather, had a major musical influence on the twins as he was in a band of his own. This no doubt inspired Bill to start writing his own songs at a young age and eventually go on to co-found Devilish with his brother.

He has three tattoos (a star on his stomach, "freiheit" on his left arm and the band symbol on the back of his neck), and two piercings (tongue and eyebrow). He is known for his androgynous, David Bowie-like look and his taste in music includes Nena, Green Day, and Keane.

Georg plays an Axe bass and was directly influenced by Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His musical taste is more alternative, including Oasis and Green Day.

Gustav Schäfer is from Magdeburg, Germany. He is the drummer for Tokio Hotel. He was born on September 8, 1988. Gustav is the only member of the band whose parents did not divorce. He has one older sister named Franziska, and they are very close.
