The Villines Brothers
The Villines Brothers play a rockin' blend of indie folk immersed in bluegrass roots with twinges of jazz. Joe Villines plays guitar and banjo. Patrick Villines plays mandolin, guitar and bass cello. They harmonize only like twins can in rich voices with down home roots. The talent has been building since they began playing 17 years ago. Musical tours in hard rock, blues, traditional bluegrass, indie rock, alt country and folk led to the development of their own style.
They commanded the music scene during their recent heyday in college town, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and garnered several awards including: Best Stringed Instrument Players, Best Folk Band, and Best Song of the Year. While they were known locally, regionally and nationally, they chose to drop out of the scene during the peak of their careers. The Villines Brothers returned to their roots deep in the Ozark Hills to marry, begin homes and families.
Throughout the transition the twins honed their craft. They listened to the old and new and concentrated on finding their true sound. Then they got down and started jamming.
The ear of the discerning listener and the jolly good timer is caught by The Villines Brothers. Flawless phrases teamed with frolicking riffs go hand in hand with the twins' personalities. They know how to get a job done right and have a good time doing it.

Kingston Music on the Square
The gig at Kingston was great! The folks from the library shut down the street and we had an old fashioned Music on the Square party. The combined sound system setup turned out to sound really good. T... Posted by on Sat, 26 Jul 2008 06:49:00 GMT
