In 1982, he started studying music at the Jazz School St. Gallen for 3 years and then moved to Lucerne to study music at the Music University of Lucerne with the famous Drummer and Teacher Pierre Favre.
In 1987, Orlando began to work professionally with the band “Sara Sahara & the Dunes“ and played drummer shows and workshops for Pearl CH.
With the Latin / Jazz Band “Heinz Affolter Acoustic Adventure“ he was on tour in 1989 and played with the legendary guitarist Jeff Richman in Switzerland. At the same time Orlando worked with different bands named “Umamaca“, “RFK“, “Back to Back“, and “La Boheme“.
After this year, it was not long before Orlando was regularly invited to recording sessions and live performances with â€Just Two“, “Müller“, “Shrimp“, “Paul Camilleri“, “Larry Burton“, “Sugar Blue“, “Musicstars“, “Mario Pacchioli“, “Swiss Armee Big Band“, “Dani Felber Big Band“....and more.
Orlando began working with the famous Swiss Rocklady Sina in 1995. That was the beginning of a twelve year relationship playing in many tours in Switzerland, Germany, China, the first Swiss Rock & Blues Crouse and the recording of many CD’s.
As a solo artist, Orlando has performed since 1999 with his soloproject “Rhythm Colour“. He recorded and produced his first solo DVD in 2004. In the same year he started working on different projects named “New Variety of Sound“ (Multipercussion, Classical Organ with Rudolf Lutz), “Colors of Sound“ (Multipercussion, Flutes and Chinese Flutes with Ruth Bischofberger, Guitars Thomas Sonderegger), and the Drumproject “Mensch & Maschine“ (Mankind & Machine).
In 2005 and 2006 Orlando performed in the Late Night Show “Black & Blond“ with Zlatko “Slädu“ Perica (Git), Peter Keiser (Bass), H.P. Brüggemann (Keys), Daniel Küffer (Sax). With the same band, he performed in the Big Concert named “Night of the Guitars I and II“ in Bern Switzerland with 16 famous guitar players.
In 2007, Orlando performed with Gölä and Freda Goodlet in the show “Art on Ice“ in the Hallenstadion in Zürich. With the new band “Baum & The Bomb Squad“ he played live at the Openair Festival in St. Gallen and recorded a live DVD and CD.
Since 1986 Orlando has worked as a Drum teacher in different music schools, highschools and for 6 years at the Music University of St. Gallen.
Orlando has been playing Pearl Drums and Sabian Cymbals as an endorser since 1987.
