About Me

I invite you to follow this link to my blog, ROBERTA'S VOICE
and
BASKET OF KISSES , for all your Mad Men blogging needs.
I have been described as fun, funny, warm, sweet, absolutely outspoken, outrageous, and earthy. I am a grounding and dead-on insightful listener and advice-giver; soft and compassionate... and a silly and sarcastic creator of all things trouble.
My day job is at a promotional medical education agency (similar to pharmaceutical advertising), but my real passion lies in the performing arts. I'm a singer, a songwriter,
a guitar player, and I've done a lot of theater and improv. AND I am in the process of kick-starting a career in professional voiceovers. I also have an autobiographical one-woman-show in development.
"May your drama turn into either comedy or romance" --Billy Bardo 4/15/06
Born Jewish, love the Jews! I find comfort in the heritage, the relationships, and some tradition. I am a Wiccan/Pagan. I am working hard on deciphering and expanding upon...me. And expanding my methods; more yoga and its teachings, shamanic journeying. There is magic in and around us and I want in.

Be surprised by me. If you have to label yourself, fine. Leave me out of it. I'll figure you out in time By what I see By how you treat me -- rkl

My Interests

I'm a writer; songs, blogs, big long emails. I'm a performer; guitar player/songstress, cabaret singing, acting, improv. I love theater, and music, and movies, and yoga, and philosophies, and cooking. I love talking, unraveling, debating, expanding. Laughing my ass off. I really, really love being with people; family and friends...

Albert & Scout, the black one Constance & Habitat for Humanity dudes"I do not wish to treat friendships daintily, but with roughest courage. When they are real, they are not glass threads but the solidest thing we know." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'd like to meet:

I'm looking for a long term... boyfriend, husband. A kind, sane man. Someone sparkly. Extraordinary. And grounded. With a sense of fun and joy in life, someone who is honest and responsible in their communications, and who listens well.Warmth, kindness, tolerance in the world. And crazy about me…always a plus.

I want to be kissed by someone who thinks I am so wonderful, so beautiful, so amazing, that they cannot bear the thought of another moment going by without kissing me.

"For a kiss to be really good, you want it to mean something. You want it to be with someone you can't get out of your head, so that when your lips finally touch, you feel it everywhere. A kiss so hot and so deep, you never want to come up for air. -- Grey's Anatomy

A Blog to Boys
February 4, 2006

To all of you from all of us,

(ahem.)

We're sorry.

Really, really apologize here.

Sorry that sometimes we are insane.

that we get really really mad at you and

don't tell you why

and are mad at you for not knowing why

or for not knowing how to fix it

and then when we DO tell you

and you DO fix it

we are mad that we had to tell you.

We are complicated

and tricky

and really

it's not your fault

that we count on you so much

to make us feel good

and that we often

take you down in the process

of getting our own needs met.

You'd think we'd have all worked this out a long time ago

this misunderstanding between the genders

and in case you haven't noticed

it crosses all relationship types

sister brother

lover

friends

co-workers

Sometimes we (the women)

just have to operate under the assumption that you

(the men)

just suck.

Because you often do.

Sorry about that.

Sorry we are so needy

Sorry we want your attention

and approval

and attention again

so so badly

We know that you just want us happy

Because your lives are so much better

when we are happy

but you get it wrong a lot

And we are quite unforgiving of that

plus we want to keep talking about it

a

lot!

So

Again

Sorry.

Really sorry.

Please don't give up on us

keep loving us

and we will try to do the same

even when we are so angry we want to rip out body parts

and you are so frustrated you never want to speak to us

really.

sorry.

Love,

the women

Okay technically 'laid off'. Still sucks. Let's not make this an annual event. Even though last year I did meet a boy two weeks later. And two weeks is soon!
