What you see is what you get, that's me. I am a very easy going person, but I am also very driven and passionate about things that are important to me like my band and my music. Some people think I am a little too straight forward because I'll tell you like it is, no sugar coating. That's just me. I have been told that I can be intimidating. It's true. But it's crazy because I'm actually pretty shy underneath. (A girl who fronts a reggae band is SHY?!) I like my solitude and my personal space. I like to think I am funny. I don't know if my friends agree though. lol! I work out a lot and try my best to stay in shape. Often people think I'm about 10 years younger than I really am. Gotta love it. I feel good about myself and I'm very happy with where my life is at right now.
I've played trumpet throughout the Caribbean with soca bands Atlantik and Xtatik and some calypso tents and other bands in Trinidad. Presently I manage and play in my own Boston-based reggae/soca band called Hot Like Fire.(I sing, play trumpet and keys). Our new CD "Reggae Around the World" was released in 2006. The hot new single "Hot Like Fire Tonight" gets mad airplay and was number one in the Top 6 at 6:00 on WERS 88.9FM Boston radio for ten consecutive weeks. I took a little breather these past couple winters and went back to Trinidad to play trumpet with a few bands for Carnival 07 and 08. It was a well-deserved working vacation that put me back in touch with my first love, being a trumpet player. It's amazing what living in the Caribbean can do for your peace of mind.
