Obviously my name isn't Traumatic Brain Injury. My name is Josh or Joshua (whichever you prefer). I Started this page to publicly raise the issue of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This is something I care about deeply and have personal experience with. You see, I am a SURVIVOR of a TBI. July 10, 2002, while working in a warehouse, I fell off a forklift from approximately 18 feet high. Getting up from a pool of blood that had originated from my head, I stumbled to where others could see me. I was incoherent, confused, and disoriented. I had just suffered a "moderate-to-severe" closed-head Traumatic Brain Injury. **After this day, my life would never be the same** Retelling this story, though I can't even remember this day I speak of (or the following 2 weeks after) Brings Me To Tears. There is obviously much more to tell, as it has been SEVEN (7) Long Years since my accident, and so much has occurred, so many changes, so many obstacles, a few wonderful successes, and, of course, this story isn't finished. It is being written one day at a time BY ME. I am the author of my own story. I AM NOT A VICTIM - I AM A SURVIVOR. Those of us facing similar challenges from having sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury or from enduring those hard times as close family members or friends -- REMEMBER WE ARE ALL SURVIVORS. Read my blogs, watch my videos. Pass on what you learn here.
