About Me

About 0045:
Never satisfied with the norm, 0045 has always gone his own way. He has continuously refused to be categorized, and has spent years defying convention by playing a mixture of house, breaks, techno, and everything in between. This unusual blend has allowed him to combine the best hard hitting sounds of last decade, with those of today. And he’s done it with no concern over where a track came from, just whether or not the crowd will dance to it.
Now, after 11 years of dj’ing he has finally started writing tracks, and he’s doing it with that same disdain for convention. He’s writing everything from deep soulful grooves, to slamming hard electro tracks, to chill out and dubstep, using the same tripped out sounds, twisting leads, and hard banging bass that he has been playing for years. He already has tracks out on Cobalt Recording and Pure Trax, and has many more to come soon.
You can also find him on facebook and at www.virb.com/dj0045 .
About DNA:
Daniel and Alex, DNA for short, met back in 1998 in the then massive Houston rave scene. Daniel Allen was working at the biggest record store in Houston, Chemistry Records, and Alex (DJ 0045) was working for the biggest promotion crew in Houston, Afterdark. At the time, both were rapidly rising stars in Houston’s underground DJ scene and playing prime slots at shows throughout the region.
Over the years, they went their separate ways, but in 2008 Alex approached Daniel with the proposition to form a house production team. From their very first session (where they co-wrote their first release Touch, on Cobalt Recording) it became clear that big things were going to come from these two.
Combining Daniel’s love for mature-sounding tracks, and Alex’s passion for dance-floor-friendly music, they have been making everything from tripped out techno, to hard disco house. Look for more to come from these two soon.

Sounds Like: The Style:
First and foremost I'm a House DJ. I'm a big fan of the quick, hot mix. I play everything I can find that has a bit of a hard house edge to it - from funky breaks, to electro, to speed garage, to straight up disco.

The Mixes:

Lost in the Mix
2007 – 60 mins.
28 tracks – House
This mix ranges through multiple styles of house, electro, and breaks. It is definitely on the softer side of what I would play, but it should be fun to listen to none-the-less.*

A Daily Dose of 0045
2000 – 60 mins.
25 tracks – House
This mix consists of a blend of many different styles of house and breaks, and was largely responsible for launching my early career.*

BASSick 0045
2007 – 62 mins.
29 tracks – House
This is a mostly old-school speed garage mix that I made for my girlfriend.

Nightmares
2003 – 65 mins.
14 tracks – Trance
This mix contains a lot of my old favorite trance tracks.*

* These mixes were recorded in just one take, no editing has been done to the files, save some mastering to make the sound quality decent on the web.
