Most of the people know me as Marksy. 30 years old and a true lover of the oldskool, mainly '93-'96 US/UK House/Garage. Got into pirate radio, listening to oldskool hardcore on the big gun stations like Unity 88.4, Pulse 90.6, Kool 94.5 and Cyndicate 100.4. Listening to tunes on labels like Suburban Base, Moving Shadow got me into the music big time, and it was a regular thing heading to the big raves like AWOL, Labyrinthe & Dream FM do's at Lazerdrome. Flicking through the dial one day, i stumbled upon a station playing a type of music totally new to me. That was Girls FM, and the DJ was Huckleberry Finn, spinning some good groove US house flavas. Well that was it, i changed overnight, and the only stations worth listening to as far as i was concerned was that, London Underground 89.4, and of course the mighty 10:18 express, Freek FM. DJ's like Bullet, Operator, Madness, Jazzy D playing the pitched up deep US house tunes were smashing up the airwaves, and i was HOOKED! . Gass Club & Collesseum were the big nights for me, pure good vibes! Since then, i've been buying vinyl on a (more than) regular basis, amassing a hefty collection from the UK & US side of things. Big names like Grant Nelson, Victor Simonelli, Kerri Chandler are a big part of the collection aswell as obviously, the more obscure stuff. I've never played out, and don't intend to. I just love listening to the good vibes (my mates will say it's cos i can't mix!) No truth in that WHATSOEVER, they're LIARS! :) . Big shout out to all the stations over the years that have come & gone, or still here, maximum respect. Unity, Conflict, Freedom, Pulse, Syndicate, (The Original) Chillin, Kool, Rush, Magic, Deja Vu, Pleasure, Chicago, LUG, Girls, Freek, Upfront, and all the many others i can't remember off the top of my head right now. Bored yet?, thought so, me to. The End.
