About Me

DJ Brandon (DJB) has been a musician since he was 7 years old. Starting out on drums at an early age Brandon had developed a pro playing style, jamming along side some great musicians, and blessed to have true inspirational figures “John Lee Hooker”& Stepdad Archie Lee Hooker to be apart of the family really shaped and mold him to be a musician."
Brandon started spinning at parties while he was a student in early 1995. Later that summer, he decided it was time to improve his skills. It was not a surprise that this skilled musician with his natural affinity for music mastered the techniques of mixing and created his own style without any instruction or guidance.
He landed his first residency at local bars that following year. He soon received attention from other venues within the Bay Area.
He is able to accomplish truly amazing mixes. He seemlessly mixes, scratches and manipulates music together to provide an enhanced entertainment experience for the clubs. He is gifted enough to mix acapellas and instrumentals to create blends on the fly, as well as using creative ways to mix the most unexpected tracks together. However, his biggest strength remains his ability to play the right track at any given moment. He knows how to control a crowd by simply playing the right song at the right time. Having said all this, the best way to find out what DJB is all about is to listen to him live at a club
Besides spinning live at clubs, DJB is also very busy making music Opening shows with some of the greatest Musicians in the industry. Playing along side stepdad Archie Lee Hooker and the Coast to Coast Blues Band, Brandon is showing his skills as a Vocalist and Drummer. His mixing style has also evolved over the years.
DJB is also working with Bands within the R&B & Blues Music Community.

Tribute to John Lee Hooker
John Lee Hooker was one of the greatest figures in blues history, recording over 75 albums in his lifetime. Born in 1920 in Mississippi, he had his first huge recording hit in 1948 – the million selling "Boogie Chillen," which defined his guitar playing technique unique to the blues as a droning, hypnotic, one-chord electric, timeless sound that would eventually become famous the world over. Hooker moved to the Bay Area in the late 1970s and it remained his home until his death in 2001. This tribute will feature members of his long-standing San Francisco group, the famed Coast to Coast Band, who will perform material from the Hooker songbook. This momentous event will also feature guest appearances by John Lee Hooker’s daughter, Zakiya Hooker, his nephew, Archie Lee Hooker, and singer Kathi McDonald. "Nothing but the best. Later for the rest."
