SIDEWAYS SOUNDWAVES is the collaborative work of two artists with whom you may be familiar, DIGITAL STARFLOWER (Kristy Fike) and JADEIUS ~THE~ VNDEAD (Donnie Sullivan). If you do not know them or have not heard their music, shame on you! Check the top friends below!
Kristy has formal training in audio production, and she has passed along some of her professional knowledge to Donnie. She has a good mind for what sounds best when mixed together, and she loves to create very complex patterns and compositions in her music. Kristy has the advantage of having many inspiring people and things around her to infuse into her music; one of these people is her boyfriend and life-partner Jeff, who has his own musical project by the name of Telekinetic Cybernetics. (If you have not heard of him or heard his music, again, SHAME ON YOU! TOP FRIENDS!!) Jeff was the mastermind behind the name of this project, SIDEWAYS SOUNDWAVES.
Donnie has been learning and working with audio production software since 1998, and he has learned most of his trade by trial-and-error, mimicking things he has heard, and exaggerating the things that he finds most intriguing in his own music. Through his method of learning by listening, Donnie has developed his own style that works very well with other artists; thus, he has been known to collaborate with other musicians in the past few years, including Chris Merrill (AKA Chris K), Jesse Atkinson, ZODIAC, and excess-bition. Donnie's main inspiration, or rather motivation, to make music is his life-partner Tony, who encourages Donnie to keep going and never give up, even when he encounters the most difficult production-related problems while working on a new song.
You simply cannot mistake a DIGITAL STARFLOWER or JADEIUS ~THE~ VNDEAD track for any other; when you hear one of their songs, you know who wrote it.
The two artists have their own very distinct styles of writing music, but when these styles are put together into one mathematically impossible formula, the result can be described as nothing less than synergistic. Hence, the track that sparked this movement into a whole new project is entitled "Synergy."
Kristy started the first two SIDEWAYS SOUNDWAVES tracks, "Friendship" and "Synergy," and Donnie lengthened them and added a bell or whistle (or percussion part) here or there. Nobody could know which direction future songs will go, or who will start the next one. Just as a sound-wave of mixed instruments is very unpredictable in its nature, so is SIDEWAYS SOUNDWAVES. Expect the unexpected. You will be surprised, shocked, but never let down by the complementary sounds of Kristy and Donnie -- SIDEWAYS SOUNDWAVES.
