SHAMANYAN was established in 1998. Originally it was all about just having fun and making music but it has developed into an ambititious band with two members. The music could be described as electronic rock, which sounds and resembles artists like Depeche Mode and The Cure. But SHAMANYAN isn’t gothic rock, it has many influences from electronic dance music.
SHAMANYAN: â€Our goal is to make music from the artistic point of view without forgetting the commercial side of the business. We’re ready to work tirelessly to benefit our success. We’re able to produce almost all of the needed material by ourselves including the pictures and graphic layout of our products. Our music is directed to the international markets and under right conditions we will surely succeed. Our originality and passionate orientation towards music is our strength.â€
Mr. Jani Puustinen (vocals, keyboards, programming, music, lyrics): â€I have been involved in different aspects of music for all my life. The first time I became related to electronic music was in 1991, when I got my first keyboard Roland D-10 and the ATARI 1040 STE computer with a Notator sequencing program. My composing skills matured to my current level in 1997 when I met the bands potential guitarist Sami. I’ve been working as a DJ for 10 years and through that I’ve learned a lot from music.â€
Mr. Sami Nieminen (guitars, keyboards, programming, music, visual identity): â€As a youngster I used to play the piano and the French horn for ten years, but when I became a teenager I started to play the guitar in my own band. After that I’ve played the guitar and have sung in different rock groups and jazz groups. I’ve also done some gigs as troubadur. I’ve made music with a computer from 1997. I’ve also designed our bands logo and the visual style in my own company: NuDesign."
