The Sous Soul Sessionistas started out in 2005 in Montréal as an iniciative to get some sisters together and make some noise. Through the radio community of CKUT90.3FM(www.ckut.ca) news spread quickly and soon the basement (sous-sol en francais) at 76 east salopette blvd. became home to a new sound movement. They practiced frequently and with the help of the extraordinary Montreal DJ Tashish and soundman/DJ Moonstar played an exhillerating one show benefit, opening for Nomadic Massive at Le Divan Orange for the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. Right after that, reya moved to Mexico City to practice her lengua latin and making vegan tacos, Caro roamed Europe working as a journalist pour les sans papiers, Christine continued lighting for dancers, and Sonya got hired by SeroZero to give out condoms to sex workers.Recently, Christine and Caro have shown up at the door of reya's Paris apartment to reunite with some creative juices. The result is a track called 'That Whats Make the Money' and a promise to continue the collaboration across the Atlantic via the internet. The first track up is an accapella mix by reya. Keep yerself posted for further remixes from accross the sea.
