About Me

My name is Braxten Jacoby Keith Bounds. I was born on July 27, 2007. When my mommy was 20 weeks pregnant with me her and my daddy and my two sisters found out that I was missing my right hand but I am a Happy and Healthy baby. This is my story by my mommy.I'm Brandi, Braxten's mom. I decided to make a web page about Braxten because when I found out that he was missing his hand I was crushed. I felt like someone had just ripped my heart out and stomped all over it. This was the only boy for both sides of our families and to find out he was missing his hand was so hard, not to mention that I was only half way through the pregnancy and not knowing how it was going to look or what to expect scared me to death. All you want when you have kids is for them to be healthy and have ten fingers and ten toes and in this case our little man was missing his whole hand so all these questions just started racing through my head about how will he do this or that, etc. The doctors all said that he was healthy but even knowing that didn't make it easier. I'm hoping that by making this web page it will help others that are in this same situation or situations like ours. I had the opportunity to meet other families and do all kinds of research when we found out. I think that knowing ahead of time helped our family prepare as much as possible. I just want others to know that you are not alone and it's not the end of the world. The kids and adults that I have met and talked to are amazing people and God put them in our lives for a special reason. They haven't let anything get in there way. I know what helped me more than anything is to have all the support coming from all over and knowing that God has given us this little guy like this for a reason. I think that all of us are special in our own unique way and this just happens to be the way God wanted our little man to be. He will have every opportunity to do what he wants in life and nothing can stop him. Braxten is not any different than any child with two hands including his two older sisters. He has already proven to us that it's not affecting him in any way. He holds his pacifier in with his little wrist and uses it to hold his blankets and I'm sure he will continue to show us something new everyday. I've learned a lot in the last few months and found that I am a stronger person than I ever thought I was. If anyone ever wants to talk please do not hesitate to let me know.
