About Me

BIO:Misolanius was born in Charleston SC and moved with his mom to Palo Alto California after his parents got divorced at the age of 5. Miso became infatuated with music and especially hip-hop at an early age. His major influences at the time were 2pac, Ice Cube, Wutang Clan, Nas and Outkast. At the age of 11 Misolanius was writing poetry and making beats with a jam man sampler and an old Tascam 4-track for recording. Once high school came around things got tuff for Misolanius and trouble just kept following him. Palo Alto was a not so friendly place and Misolanius was caught right in the middle of it. Fist fights and drugs seemed to be an everyday occurrence for him and eventually he dropped out of school. In 1995 Miso ended up running away from home with his girlfriend at the time, bouncing around to friends houses and then they took a greyhound to his dads house in Walkertown North Carolina to chill out for a while. During this time Misolanius would constantly be writing poetry and lyrics and developing his style as an artist. After a about two years from 96-98 he and his girlfriend broke up and he ended up getting his own studio apt at the age of 17 because things were not working out at home in Palo Alto. He worked at Macy’s in Cupertino CA selling men’s shoes while making music with a neighborhood friend that he had met a couple years back and that started an underground hip-hop duo called “Sublevel”, however they ended up going their separate ways. Miso decided to move to Chico California to go to Butte College and try to turn his life around. While going to JC, to get an associates degree, Misolanius was worked on his first album and joined forces with some fellow emcees and formed a crew called Dialecs ( Tetrarue,Misolanius,Himp C, Chance 1 and Grits). Miso and the Dialecs crew did shows all over Chico, at clubs, bars, parties etc. and in doing so built up a fan base and made a name for themselves locally. While attending college, he continued writing songs and making beats and started focusing more on his solo debut which came out in 2002 called “What These Eyes Have Seen,” a somewhat experimental album. In 2003, Miso started working on his second solo album called “Assorted Elements.” This lyrical masterpiece features the Dialecs crew as well as DarkCead, Wes Wright and R&B vocalist Alpine. Miso released “Assorted Elements,” in February 2005, as well as starting his own record label called “MagnumOpus Records”.Currently Miso is residing in the bay area, California, attending recording arts school and finishing a bachelor’s degree in applied science. Misolanius recently just put out a new group project called “Monarch The Beginning The E.P.” with fellow mc Wes Wright and producer 7hz, with additional production by Kristo of the Sol Rebels, General Elecktriks and Bennett of The Dirt Merchants and is also in the process of working on his third solo album as well as the full length Monarch album that is scheduled to drop early 2009 with fellow mc Wes Wright and producer 7hz, with heavy production contributions from Bennett of the "Dirt Merchants". This album also has some heavy hitters on it such as Zion I, Gift Of Gab from Blackalicious and Marty James of One Block Radius. So keep your ears to the street and look out for the heat cuz its gettin HOT LIKE FIRE!
