YelleB is a Contemporary Dance Ensemble that seeks to establish a symbiotic relationship between performance and educational outreach. Through creative process, performance, education and collaboration with diverse communities, YelleB encourages a positive self-image that inspires well-being.
YelleB, led by Israeli Choreographer, Ella Ben-Aharon, provides a unique, process-oriented experiential training that retunes, reveals and redefines the body/mind connection for our dancers, the larger community of participants and collaborators, and the audience. While our work is based in subject matters that are sincere and personal to the artists, YelleB aspires to create a high quality performance art that moves individual audience members to reflect on his/her own experiences and spark dialogues with others in the community.YelleBology, our educational outreach program, offers a blend of physical, intellectual, and artistic activities designed to encourage a positive self-image. In addition to performances, YelleB conducts post-performance discussions with the artists, innovative classes in Anatomy and Biomechanics, creative movement workshops for dancers and non-dancers, as well as lectures and discussion groups. With this newfound knowledge, awareness, acceptance, and individual responsibility, YelleB seeks to provide its participants with the tools to actualize his/her self potential.
