About Me

Trumpeter James Marr very quickly became immersed in all things musical in his hometown of Aberdeen when he started learning trumpet at the age of 12. At the age of 15 he bacame a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland and has played with them for six years, the last five of which have been on lead trumpet chair. James also plays lead trumpet in the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra and the NYJOS Collective and frequently travels across the country with numerous other ensembles including the celtic/jazz group Ceol Mor. As a lead trumpet player he deps for top lead/jazz trumpeter Ryan Quigley which has seen him playing in such ensembles as the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, the Ryan Quigley Big Band and calls to play with several other notable groups. Taught by Roger Ingram, Ryan Quigley, Steve Waterman, Tom Macniven and Tommy Smith he will be studing jazz in a year. I created my layout at KillerKiwi.net
