About Me

Biography

Briefly:

Founder member of Telford metal band Cancer along with John Walker and Carl Stokes. We released 4 albums. To The Gory End, Death Shall Rise(during the recording of which we were joined by James Murphy whose solos feature throughout the album), The Sins of Mankind(James being replaced by Guitarist Barry Savage) and finally Black Faith(A Monster, all consuming I’m afraid!) Throughout my time with Cancer I was lucky enough to tour several countries including: America, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Holland, Spain, Israel and even Wales! Shortly after releasing "Black Faith" on East West records we split up with the final gig being at the Campden Palace in London( A fate that was to plague further incarnations of the band).

I have since written and recorded my own material under the monicker "Hairy Scary Man" I also played bass in the Metal band "Hail of Fire" featuring Carl Stokes, Dave Leitch, Barry Savage and Rob Lucas. Occasionally I write and record with Carl Stokes who I have been friends with since the earliest Cancer days. Unfortunately time constraints have curtailed much of this activity. Currently I am working with Rob Engvikson (Danelaw) on some music that is probably a bit different for both of us. Of course anything involving Rob is going to be heavy so it isn’t too far off the mark!

These photos of Cancer were taken at The Marquee.

Below are some videos mainly of Cancer performances. Thanks to Barry for uploading some of them.

New Cancer interview. Questions are by Leslie.

I have just finished this interview about my former band Cancer. I thought it might be interesting to some people so I 've decided to post it here. It's long and took ages to complete. Thanks to Lesli...
