About Me

"Rock bassist" is the right definition. Now he plays with BURNING PURPLE (Deep Purple Tribute Band).
He begins to play bass guitar in the seventies, tourning around with many bands in his belt (west Liguria, Italy), playng live or in studio, every time was possible. In the early eighties, he starts tourning professional, with the italian singer-composer Luciano Rossi. The tour was around all Italy, and some shows broadcasts on national networks.
After military service he pursues his musical studies with the master Luciano Capurro, and after a short time with a local band, he meets his great friend Dario Mollo (guitar), and together they found again the band CROSSBONES. The band were given concerts all across Italy, and were invited to play on the compilation album "Metallo Italia". They shot a video to accompany the album at the Piper in Rome, and had some appearances in TV broadcasts on national networks. In 1986, they met Kit Woolven, producer of many bands including, Thin Lizzy, Cradle of Filth, and UFO, and recorded (in UK) a song for another compilation called "Italian Rock Invasion". Along the way, Crossbones, played at Hammersmith Odeon in London (now called Hammersmith Apollo), taking the stage by storm and getting great reviews for their performance. In 1986 the album Crossbones (Mollo, Veronesi, Airey, Gaslini, Secomandi) was recorded: the band was joined by Don Airey (Rainbow, Ozzy Osborne, Whitesnake, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, etc... ); they toured together across Europe, and made two videos for the album (filmed in a castle in Budapest). Crossbones was mentioned also in some rock-cyclopedies, and appears in a few live-shows on european networks.
In the begining of '90 the Crossbones project was set aside, but the friendship between Fulvio and Dario will be continued. After some years, they teamed up with Don Airey and Ezio Secomandi (Crossbones drummer) to record the album now known as "The Cage". Almost completed, the album needed a voice, and Dario (not only a great guitarist, now also a great producer) was introduced to Tony Martin; the singer regarded to have put Black Sabbath back on it's feet. Tony Martin wrote lyrics and melodies for the amazing traks, and "The Cage" was born. For many people this album ('99) was the natural prosecution and the final opera of Crossbones project. "The Cage" was very succesful with both critics and fans.
In 1996, Fulvio founds, with his sister Manuela (singer), the band SHINE. On guitar Fabio Rossi (great friend), on drums Tiziano Pavone. He plays: bass guitar, bass pedals and sings for backing vocals. For a few years he plays also keyboards, but at last Shine found their keyboards-man (Edo Tavanti). In 2001, the band contibute to the company "Musical I Love You", to realize on stage the rock-opera Jesus Christ Superstar. The musical was rappresented in a mini tour across west liguria. With Shine, ten years of live-show, and a record: "Doing Easy Music, Or...". The album is a collection of rock-covers, arranged by Fulvio and the band. He attends also to the production of the record.
Meanwhile, he is involved by his friend Dario Mollo to some projects. One of these is"Giuntini Project". Three records (work in progress for the forth) with Aldo Giuntini, guitarist from Savona, again with Tony Martin on vocals.
In the meantime Dario starter to work on another, very ambitious, project that saw the myth Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple) on vocals, Roberto Gualdi (Premiata Forneria Marconi, Lucio Dalla, etc...) on drums, and Dario Patti (keyboards): "VOODOO HILL". Fulvio plays Bass in the second "episode" of this project, "Wild Seed of Mother Hearth", worldwide realised. As for "The Cage", the album had a great success.
Another great name beteween Fulvio's collaboration is Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Alcatrazz, MSG):a demo with some traks of the album "Down to Heart" (Rainbow); recorded by: Graham Bonnet (voc), Don Airey (keys), Dario Mollo (guit), Roberto Gualdi (drums), Fulvio Gaslini (bass).
There is also a collaboration for a fews years to the bass-forum of Megabass.it (nickname:Black Tiger).
