"The greatest DJ to ever come out of Kazakhstan." - Mixxmag
Super Greg's career is punctuated by landmark achievements, including 'the first DJ in the world to sell out a club event for over 100 people in Kazakhstan'. He also scored a hit with his single "Old MacDonald Had a Farm (Super Greg's E-I-E-I-O Reconstruction Mix)", the first instrumental track to reach the top spot in his homeland of Kazakhstan in 15 years. It also broke through the Billboard 1000 at 998 in 2006. This production became highly acclaimed by many of the world's best DJs and producers, including Pete Tonge, Danny Tenaglea, Eric Morilo, Loco Dise, Paul Van Dykk and Miguel Migz:
"This record is great...for swatting mosquitoes at my gigs in South & Central America." - Danny Tenaglea
"It was a catchy tune...when I was in second grade." - Pete Tonge
"I gave this record to my first grade teacher. She and her class loved it." - Paul Van Dykk
"E-I-E-I-O? What the F??" - Eric Morilo
"This guy is more loco than me." - Loco Dise
"Wow...I don't even know where to begin with this track." - Miguel Migz
Well, we can begin by saying that not only do Super Greg's productions prevent Danny Tenaglea from contracting malaria, his productions also musically inspire the children of tomorrow. His remix of "Shake that Rump" featuring Big Mama was the first house track ever broadcast on daytime radio in Kazakhstan, (it became an international dancefloor anthem and also spent eight weeks in the Kazakhstan top 10 chart). He also had the privilege of performing live in front of 50 people during the Parade Of The Pigs at the official opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Games in Almaty, Kazakhstan. But despite his meteoric success, Super Greg remains grounded about his achievements and clearly loves making and playing music above the accolades it brings.
Continuing to explore fresh avenues, Super Greg is currently experimenting with new sounds in the studio, and writing more vocals himself. He also scratches and spins only vinyl, which is a testament to his old school style. He says, "I only scratch and spin on vinyl so if you have a problem with that or you think you can do it better, then that's your problem (not mine)...sorry if I sound a little upset."
There's nothing to be upset about, because the future for Super Greg promises yet further success as he moves from Kazakhstan to America to test the waters of the club scene there. His presence in America has even captured the news media's attention...
"Word has it Super Greg is in Miami. God help us all." - Miami New Chimes, 8/15/2007
"Miami club goers have one more thing to worry about besides hurricanes." - Wall Street Journalle, 8/19/2007
"Will Super Greg save the dying Miami club scene, or will he aggravate it?" - Miami Cherald, 8/10/2007
No aggravation here, folks. Super Greg believes this move to Miami will bring him new opportunities and adventure. He says, "I will be passing out my cassette mixtapes to all the nightclubs in Miami and hopefully have the opportunity to perform at my dream venue, Club Space. Maybe, just maybe, I will have the honor of shaking hands with DJs and producers like Oscar G, Stryke and Behrouz."
Your fans are rooting for you, Super Greg. Stay fresh.
