Unfadeable Isaiah

A New Era

About Me

It was at the tender age of 13 when Isaiah was discovered to possess a musical talent far beyond his years. Coming from a family in Southern Cali with its fair share of musicians, it was not easy living in underprivileged conditions. Because of this, Isaiah has only become richer in the heart and gave him the motivation and creativity he has today.
The accomplished musician/producer started his musical career at an early age of 10 within the band programs offered at school. But, he started much later than most students as they had 1-2 years head-start on him. It was at 13 when Isaiah received his first semi-pro gig as a saxophone player, playing in nightclubs, festivals and other venues. He also went on to win numerous awards in jazz competitions throughout middle and high schools.
Being raised on an eclectic taste of music gave Isaiah the ability to achieve that success in school and also gave him the ability to create music that he creates for today and for the future. Isaiah feels very blessed to be taught under the direction of Mr. Lou Lingo (R.I.P.) and Mr. Ed Roina. Under those two gentlemen, Isaiah went on to learn the total of 10 instruments.
In his junior year in high school, Isaiah and best friend Lino (LD) formed a 10-piece cover band for a Battle of the Bands contest at school. It was then when they also acquired their other best friend ERG to be part of the band as a Rapper/MC. During that time, ERG and Isaiah would get together after school to compose original songs using a simple keyboard and a cassette player/recorder. Old school huh? It was then in 1999 when Unfadeable Records was founded. Isaiah and ERG were always trying to figure out ways to make original compositions without using MIDI-based sounds and samples, which were the only ways the music they were listening to was being made. They felt as if todays music was missing the soul that the older music had. Isaiah, ERG and Lino eventually decided to bring in other members of the label such as Eric (Nasty Boy), Angel (Geldez), Lyric and Demis. During the time when ERG and Angel were learning their craft as future producers, Isaiah was a major influence in guiding them to what they know today.
Hard work and determination has been paying off for Isaiah, ERG and the rest of the Unfadeable Records crew in working toward their dream of bringing real music into the limelight of Hip-Hop and R&B. In 2003, Isaiah and ERG decide on moving the studio from ERGs bedroom to its current location in downtown Santa Paula. Following this move came other opportunities that were profitable for Unfadeable Records as they have made numerous appearances on radio, and done shows with big artists such as Bone Thugs N Harmony, Alcholiks and T.I., just to name a few.
A New Era became the motto for Unfadeable Records, a vision of bringing back real music and real concepts that have been missing in mainstream music. Isaiah and ERG felt as if those things have been missing for more than 20 years due to synthetic instrumentation and sampling.
Now, Isaiah has helped ERG finish his long awaited debut album entitled, A New Era, which is out on sale now. Isaiah contributed in major ways for the album as a producer on a number of songs, engineering, mixing and one of the musicians throughout the album. You can also hear Isaiahs voice, sax and keyboard playing on track 1 of the CD. An argument can be made that Isaiahs roots dwell within the influence of other artists such as DAngelo, Dr. Dre, Stevie Wonder, and Carlos Santana, but its still evident that its his own style. Its a style that will only attract universal audiences so they can relate with feel and with their heart and soul.

Influences: I have been influenced by pretty much everybody. When I started out playing music, I had a lot of jazz influence. It was people like David Sanborn, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Kenny G, Candy Dulfer, Gerald Albright, Michael Paulo and my teachers Mr. Ed Roina and Mr. Lou Lingo (R.I.P.).

Of course being around so much music, my parents listened to a lot of Funk, R&B, Soul, Old School and Chicano music. Those were artists such as Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Roberta Flack, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Parliament, Kool and the Gang, Marvin Gaye, The Tempations, Carlos Santana, and other Latin Legends such as War, Tierra, El Chicano and Malo. Those are just to name a few.

Now I have been seduced by alot of today's music. I've been blessed to be very eclectic in what I listen to. Not only do I listen to Hip-Hop and R&B, but I listen to a lot of Neo-Soul, Spoken Word, Gospel, Rock, Metal, Death Metal, Alternative, Trip-Hop and many others. I say that I'm influenced by anybody who is out because I know how hard it is to come up in the music business and just to get a song out is a big accomplishment in itself. There's too many artists to list but the artists who I can see take great pride in what they do is who I admire the most.

Sounds Like: We sound like our damn selves!
